My Dear Catharine

I had hoped to get home today to see after things a little but I fear I cannot do so I may possibly get away tonight but am not at all certain as the Gov expects to leave tomorrow I have no doubt but that you are doing things up right at home. I am really getting very tired of my close confinement and would like to work on the farm a while.

Affectionately Yours
