Mrs. Montgomery informs the Governor that because her husband is fighting in the war, she is the sole supporter of herself and 5 children. Their house has been put up for Sheriff’s sale. Her husband wanted her to ask if the Governor would put a stop to the sale until such time as Mr. Montgomery could pay off the debt. She gives the address to which a reply can be sent.
