To Eli Slifer

From J. B. Linn

4 pages

Linn informs Slifer of the political conference he attended in Selinsgrove [Pennsylvania] where there was a dispute over who should be chosen as candidates for nomination.

W. W. Davis could not be elected because of opposition from Juniata County. Beaver[?] and Ritter were nominated by the majority. Linn will send a copy of the proceedings to be published in the Telegraph, and says he mistrusts the "Union movement" of the Democrats. Linn claims they hold the best offices in the county and he does not believe their claim of "harmony in war times."
