Harrisburg Pa. Sept 2 1861
My Dear Catharine
I have only time to say that I am well Yesterday I went to Church Morning and Evening in the afternoon I went with Mr. Bomberger to his farm. I glad to say to you that our people gained a great victory on the North Carolina Coast. You will see the particulars in the papers I am not certain as yet that I will need go to Pittsburgh I hope I may not And I now think will not be compelled to go. You will keep me advised of all that goes on. I got very cold before I got to Harrisburg the other night.
Affectionately Yours,
Eli Slifer
