My Dear Catharine

I feel pretty bad after two nights ride on the RR - I was to Phila Yesterday I bought bed room furniture for our room with mattresses and bolster & pillows I also bought Curtains for all the long windows down stairs. And a Mantel Looking glass I think you will be please with what I have done I hope so at least the Curtains are very good indeed as is every thing that I bought You had better not have your bed room fixed untill the furniture comes from below I got no carpet but I think I will buy carpet here I am very sorry that I cannot be with you to day but it being so cold I have thought you would put off the moving You must write me by return mail

Very affectionately yours,
