I was speaking to your Bro Samuel the other day in reference to the Post Office in this place — And offered him in the neighborhood of Two Hundred Dollars if he would work through you, for me that I get the Office — but as you were here so short a time we did not get to see you Saml has been in Bed since Saturday but talks of getting up to day — now to be plain in the matter do I stand any chance for the Office or are we all to be beaten by a woman
