West Minister sixteen miles south from here is in possession of the Rebels - A force five hundred strong entered that town last night - It is not known whether they still occupy that place - Hanover is in great danger of Rebel Raids - And although every thing is done that by the citizens that can be yet we do not feel strong enough to repel successfully such a force - If under the circumstances you could spare a Regt of troops we would consider our selves safe -
