Chronological collation of events in Lewisburg and surrounding areas. Many chapters have entries for officials, and military and census records. The Introduction provides a summarized history from 1755 to 1768. With frontispiece engraving, "Ludwig Derr's Mill - 1772," line drawing, "A Copy of Reading Howell's Map of 1792," and engraving, "Site of Shikellimy's Town - 1737." Chapters are divided into specific years, beginning with 1768. Each has a listing of major topics. Appended matter includes: "List of Officials,"; "Necrology, Commenced by James F. Linn Esquire, in 1826 [completed through 1877]"; and "Military Record, 1861-[186]5," with "List of Soldiers Buried in the Several Cemeteries in Union County" (see also directions to local cemeteries). The Index contains both subjects and surnames.
